Chlorine
General characteristics
- Chlorine is a yellow-green gas under normal conditions of pressure and temperature, with a strong and irritating odor.
- Chlorine gas is produced by the electrolysis of a salt solution (sodium chloride), then liquefied by application of pressure at low temperatures, forming a clear amber liquid, being marketed in this form.
- Product certified by LSQA according to UNIT 1216: 2014 standard for use in drinking water treatment.
Applications
Chlorine is widely used in the world for the purification of water, being the most effective and economic disinfectant to date. It is also used for cellulose bleaching, pool treatment, PVC production, production of chlorinated solvents and as an intermediary in many chemical products, such as anticoagulants, polyurethanes, lubricants, brake fluids, polyester fibers, and pharmaceutical supplies.
Packaging
For its fractional use, cylinders of 68 Kg. And Ton Containers of 908 Kg are used.
Tank trucks with a capacity greater than 18 Tons are also used for export.
